Ziglain Music is proud to announce the release of “god’s empty chair”, the second CD from Becki diGregorio and follow-up to her debut “seven worthies…. of the bamboo grove.”

diGregorio’s music is an artful balance of rock and edgy pop with a touch of psychedelia and middle-eastern flavour nestled in between. Her songs touch upon the themes of relationships and inner-reflection, and on this new CD are represented within an edgier rock framework. From raging acoustic and electric guitars to sitar and middle-eastern percussion, diGregorio’s diverse musical interests and choice of instrumentation blend together into a sea of cohesive sound.

John Wedemeyer (Charlie Musselwhite, Vince Welnick’s Missing Man Formation) on guitar, Endre Tarczy (Y & T’s Dave Meniketti Band) on bass, and Randy Hayes (Coco Montoya) on drums form the nucleus of her band.

As usual there are a couple of special guests. Former XTC guitar slinger Dave Gregory returns for a second appearance with some especially tasty guitar and keyboard work. Lyle Workman (Todd Rundgren, Beck), an in-demand L.A. session player and sideman, contributes his own brand of mania on guitar and keyboards.

As with her last CD diGregorio has written all of the songs save one, but what a special one it is. “Susan Revolving” was an unfinished Andy Partridge song floating around the XTC underground when Becki first heard it. She was moved enough by the song to approach Andy about covering it. His immediate reaction was one of shock: first because he hadn’t realized the song had been heard by anybody, and second because the song wasn’t finished. Intrigued by what he thought she could do with his tune, Andy graciously wrote additional lyrics and gave his blessing. So here, for the first time, is the previously unreleased song “Susan Revolving.”

Coinciding with the release of “god’s empty chair,” Becki has been invited to perform at “Nadine’s Wild Weekend,” a music industry showcase being held in San Francisco, California during the week of August 22-25, 2002. This will be the kickoff to a series of performances planned to promote the new CD.

In addition to being available on Becki’s website (www.beckidigregorio.com) the CD is being distributed by several independent distributors throughout the U.S., on CDBaby.com, and in Europe by Jarmusic in Germany.
